Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association
This project transforms a 600-SF interior within the former Enslaved Quarters at George Washington’s Mount Vernon into a powerful interpretive exhibit. Cole & Denny Architects revitalized the abandoned space to honor and share the stories of the Enslaved People who lived and worked on the estate. The design balances historical authenticity with modern exhibit standards, creating a respectful and immersive environment that deepens visitors’ understanding of Mount Vernon’s history.
