Subway Café ADA Renovation

This project transforms the entrance to the Subway Café on King Street, providing a new accessible ramp and stair to replace the previous wheelchair lift. Cole & Denny Architects designed a solution that meets Old Town Alexandria’s strict historic design standards while working within a tight footprint.

The 252-SF ramp and stair were thoughtfully integrated into the existing streetscape, creating a fully ADA-compliant entrance that is functional, durable, and visually cohesive with the surrounding context.
