Brault Building

Cole & Denny Architects was commissioned to design and expand the administrative headquarters building of the Northern Virginia Community College — the second largest community college in the country. Originally built in 1982, the three-story, 29,000 GSF masonry building no longer adequately served the needs of the rapidly growing institution. A 21,000 GSF addition, coupled with complete renovation of the original building, provides contemporary, executive workspace, as well as expanded meeting facilities and parking. The design features a glass curtain wall, converting the building into a welcoming symbol of transparency and accessibility to the public. The project is designed to achieve LEED-Silver certification.
