Freer Gallery Renovation
The Freer Gallery houses one of the most renowned collections of Asian art in the world. Designed in 1905 by Charles Platt, the building and courtyard provides a serene environment for the study of art. Cole & Denny Architects was commissioned to restore the courtyard, renew the galleries, and upgrade building systems. The courtyard was designed such that patrons could select designated artifacts to bring out into the natural daylight of the for intimate contemplation.
