Organ Loft

This project renovates the historic organ loft at Christ Church in Alexandria, enhancing accessibility, functionality, and preservation of one of the church’s most significant architectural and liturgical features. Christ Church, a National Historic Landmark dating to 1773, houses a distinguished pipe organ central to its worship and community life.

Cole & Denny Architects developed a design solution that provides safe access to the loft while preserving the building’s historic fabric. The renovation ensures that the organ loft remains safe, functional, and historically appropriate—supporting the church’s music ministry for generations to come and safeguarding one of Alexandria’s most historic interiors.
